I was one of the lucky people that was able to watch a prescreening of the movie “Glen Campbell’s I’ll Be”
and I have to say this was an heartfelt and warm movie. It explains the emotional road of coming out public with his Alzheimer disease. He did it with grace, and humor. He approach at the beginning of all this was keep it light make jokes. That is so my husband! It also shows us the obstacles that was put in front of his beautiful wife and his beautiful children. To watch in those few hours the change in him was heart wrenching. I could not imagine the roughness it was for his loved ones. There is a part in the movie where his daughter pours her heart to congress and I must say when you watch this make sure you have some tissues because you will surely need it. I did. Her words were so heartfelt but yet so very strong inpoint! they make you stop and think. This movie comes out in theaters today. If you have a family member or friend with Alzheimer Disease ..go see the movie..If you are a Glen Campbell fan..Go see it. It gives you a whole new outlook on Glen. He is an amazing man. This movie gave me tears, it gave me seriousness and it gave me laughter all in one movie. I have to admit movies like that are the best movies to watch! My thoughts go out to his family. My uncle had this disease. He and my aunt were married 60 something years I believe (I would have to ask her exactly how many) and I could only imagine the horror of everyday knowing he wont know. I couldn’t imagine watching the very man she spent all her years with, Had children with was slowly leaving her. It shows the strength of Kim during this time. The film features those who know him like Bruce Springsteen, Bill Clinton, The Edge, Paul McCartney, Jay Leno, Vince Gill, Jimmy Webb, Blake Shelton, Sheryl Crow, Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, Steve Martin, Chad Smith and Taylor Swift. You will see rare vintage footage and new performances of Glen’s. As well as clips of family home videos. His last song he ever sang was BEAUTIFUL you can tell it was written obviously for his family.
In celebration of this movie coming out into theaters I get to giveaway a 5 song EP soundtrack from the film. Only valid in Canada & USA.
