Pool and pool pumps
Contrary popular opinion, only a small number of homeowners actually has a pool. This is not only due to the price but also the fact they require a lot of maintenance. Unless you are prepared to pay a hefty sum to maintain your pool every year, we suggest you start cleaning it yourself. Like everything else in and around your house, pool is susceptible to damage. You need to clean it regularly, brush the sides and edges and to remove anything that can damage it. Probably the most important period for pool is winter. During this time, there is a threat of ice and snow which can jeopardize the concrete. As prevention, you should get a cover. Although you might have a good pool pump such as Onga or Davey, you will need to turn them off and put in shed. Regular change of filters is also important for proper functioning of the pump.

Concrete damage
Sooner than later, you will notice holes in the concrete. They usually affect pavement around and to your home. Nevertheless, the cracks may also appear on your house. Similarly to your pool, additional damage occurs when it gets colder. During winter, ice may penetrate these holes and increase the damage that has been done. Best way to prevent this is by being proactive and filling the holes before the winter season.

Protecting your motors
Almost every home appliance has a motor: vacuum cleaner, refrigerator, washing machine etc. People often do not realize this but most of the malfunctions are actually connected to the motor. Usually, dust can start clogging it which will lead to overheating and ultimately, breakdown. Luckily, it is really easy to maintain all these items. All you have to do is remove the dust once in a while and make sure that the motor is getting enough air.
