HURRICANE ISELLE RELIEF EFFORTS FOR PUNA HAWAII
Aloha friends family fans and readers new and old! It has been a very emotional and tolling week for those of us here on the Big Island of Hawaii Puna District. On August 7, 2014 we were stuck by Hurricane Iselle.
This is the first hurricane to hit here in 22 years. And let me tell you it was quite a doosy! So much Damage to areas the farther down the more damage.
Thankfully there were no deaths or injuries during this time. So that is very much a blessing during a dark time. However sadly one elderly man lost his entire house due to a fire caused from a burning candle. There is so much need for everyone including myself (though there are others with more need then even I do) I personally threw away $600.00 worth of food (yes I cried the entire time doing it) SNAP is reimbursing benefits to those who get SNAP (which I do and got mine but there are others who have not gotten theirs yet) and there are people who do not get and needs help. So I have put together a few ways someone can help my community.
1. Visit my Gofundme Account and donate.
2. Send directly to my paypal at firstname.lastname@example.org
3. Send money orders (Post Office ones are best) by mail
4. And of course good ole Care packages are always welcome
Feel free to send me an email to get Address for shipping. ANYTHING is helpful!
Cant help yourself?? Maybe your employer or local business’s around you would be willing to put out Donation Jars. There are so many ways to help. Also Keep us in Prayers and positive thoughts as we prepare for yet another Hurricane to hit. Hurricane Karina for those who will be watching it. We can only hope it bypasses us just like Julio did. In fact there are 3 more heading this way. Still 1500 people are powerless. May take weeks to get them back up.
